FERRELL IRVINE

With an established background in psychotherapy and extensive experience in the business Ferrell is a gifted teacher who takes an inclusive, open-minded approach to her work. Having worked with a wide variety of different clients with varying degrees of need, Ferrell brings significant experience, empathy and a broad range of perspectives to each client interaction.

Ferrell specialised in the field of bioenergetic psychotherapy, a practice that involves understanding the effect a person’s history, experience and personality has on an individual’s whole body and its processes. This approach has led Ferrell to a deep understanding of how the mind and body function together, and how to get the two to work effectively together to deliver high performance.

In her work with clients, Ferrell teaches individuals how to improve their ability to cooperate with others, listen and trust their intuition when making decisions and access their own creativity when generating solutions to problems. Clients see a noticeable improvement in their interpersonal relationships through clearer more confident communication, and as a result, are able to achieve better outcomes as individuals and productive team members.

For more than 25 years Ferrell has taught extensively in both the United States of America and New Zealand. She has also worked closely with the International Salvation Army, developing their leaders and implementing programs for their clients.

Ferrell was born and educated in the United States, where she earned her Masters in Counseling Psychology (Magna Cum Laude) from George Williams College (Illinois) and postgraduate training in psychotherapy as well as addiction and abuse recovery. She is an accredited Analyst for the LEAP leadership intensive program.

Ferrell holds full memberships at the International Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis (New York), the New Zealand Society for Bioenergetic Analysis (Wellington), the New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists and is a registered psychotherapist with the New Zealand government.
