Maree has explored many different aspects of human relationships in business settings through comprehensive counselling and academic research. Working directly with leaders in both the private and public sectors, she has developed her practical skills to apply leading academic knowledge to the current challenges leaders face.
During the last three years as an associate with Life in Leadership, Maree has played a crucial role in designing and implementing the LEAP program, working with business leaders in both New Zealand and Australian companies. Her clients include large automotive and financial services organisations. Before joining Life in Leadership, Maree was a Co-Director of a human relationship based service (Child and Family Development Centre) for seven years.
Maree’s current research into workplace relationships places her at the forefront of academic thinking. She currently holds two national doctoral scholarships for her doctoral research work: the New Zealand Top Achiever Doctoral Scholarship, and the Shirtcliffe Fellowship Scholarship.
Maree is currently studying at Victoria University in the Victoria Management School, where she is researching team workplace relationships. She earned her bachelors degree in Social Work from Massey University, followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Child Psychotherapy from Otago University. In 2008, she completed her Masters in Philosophy in Social Work at Massey University.
Maree is a registered member of the New Zealand Psychotherapy Board and has been a full member of the New Zealand Association of Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists since 1997. She is a member of the World Association of Infant Mental Health, as well as a founding member of Infant Mental Health Association of Aotearoa New Zealand where she has been National Treasurer and is the current National President. Maree is also an active member of the recently established New Zealand Coaching Psychology Special Interest Group.
